As mattresses age, they can be a host of icky things that can lead to allergic reactions. These allergens and irritants include dead skin, dust and dust mites, mold, and sweat. Even if your sheets are regularly washed, over time, this can happen in your mattress.
So, if you notice yourself having allergic reactions when you get close to your bed or if you’re stuffed up in the morning, it may be time to assess your mattress situation.
Aside from accumulating different irritants, over time, mattresses lose their mint condition. As mattresses age, they lose their ability to support the body, provide comfort, and isolate movement. That’s why it’s recommended to replace a mattress after eight to ten years.
